Vita

Director and Author

Born and raised in Erlangen, I discovered my passion for school theatre and the school newspaper at an early age. A few years later, I trained as an occupational therapist, but I was more captivated by the beauty of words and language. I went to drama school, enjoyed my time on stage and discovered my love of directing along the way. My first work as a director included "Girls in uniform" in 2007 and "EQUUS" in 2009.

I staged a wide range of plays from primary school to secondary school or worked dramaturgically with pupils on writing their own works. I was head of the drama department at a performing arts school for eight years and developed concepts for social skills training at secondary schools.

From 2010 to 2015, I worked as a theater and drama therapist at the day clinic for psychotherapy and psychiatry at the Heidekreis Hospital.. The therapeutic setting included playing with (often ingrained) role models, exploring unknown personality attributes and the scenic restructuring of inner, negatively valued images.

This was followed by an assistant director and dramaturg at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg and an acting engagement at the Comödie Fürth. In 2016, I started working at the Erlangen Theatre and developed various diverse plays with an inclusive theatre club until 2020.

In 2018, I wrote the play "Oda still in the sea of people" in this context, with which I was invited to the 23rd International Puppet Theatre Festival after the premiere and other guest performances and was nominated for the Fritz Worttelmann Prize of the City of Bochum. From 2017 to 2020 I worked at the Nuremberg State Theatre and realized various projects, including plays such as "The Happy Prince" and "Romeo and Juliet".

During a long theater break in 2021, I wrote the children's book "Ida and the Labyrinth of Happiness." In 2022, it was published in a second edition by Orange Orchard Verlag and appeared on Amazon's bestseller lists in various categories. This was followed by my second children's book, "Because You're My Best Friend," published by Tolanko Media Verlag. In 2024, "Ida and the Labyrinth of Happiness" was released as an audiobook on Audible and Apple Books.

From fall 2023 to spring 2025, I lived on the Canary Island of El Hierro, where I spent an inspiring and extremely enriching year and a half.

My new book will be published in fall 2025.
